ABOUT ME

Midlothian Drum Lessons

I’m Scott and I’ve been working as a professional musician and instructor for over 15 years. I’m originally from Aberdeenshire, moving down to Edinburgh in 2009 to study music.

My teaching experience has been vast and varied, working with schools and music schools across the country, including Chalmers Mackay Music School (Aberdeenshire), Borders School of Music (Galashiels), St Mary’s School (Melrose), Strathallan School (Perthshire), and I currently teach at schools within Scottish Borders Council.

I’ve also had an incredibly varied playing career so far, from performing in venues and festivals across the UK and internationally. I’ve worked with Hamish Stuart (played with Average White Band, Paul McCartney and many more), Joy Dunlop (BBC Scotland Presenter), Armando Lôbo (award-winning Brazillian composer) and many more.

I hold an honors degree in Popular Music from Edinburgh Napier University, Trinity College London Grade 8 Drum Kit and ABRSM Grade 5 Theory. I have a PVG license and I’m a member of the Musicians Union.

Below is a select few videos of different projects I have been involved in, so you can see and hear me play!

"My son had always loved music and took particular interest in Drums. I was looking for an instructor to help him navigate this interest and there I came across Midlothian Drum Lessons, I reached out and we were booked in for a trial session and afterwards we started the weekly lessons.

I can assure you Scott knows what he is doing, the sequence of the study pieces and how he takes my son through and communicates is beyond awesome. So if you are looking for an extracurricular activity for your child around midlothian, you will not be making a wrong move choosing Midlothian Drum Lessons"
